WHEW, IT'S GETTIN CRAZY UP IN HERE

There really comes a time in life when you have to decide where it is that you belong. We go through so many trials and tribulations that at any time we can get misdirected or what I call it, rerouted. Well, as I plan my new route, i realize that things can get pretty crazy up in here.
I have finally decided to face one of my biggest fears, though it may sound crazy and that may describe me, but here it is.......it's electronics. Yikes, I said it, the fear of electronics. All those wires and all that stuff that's in there, I let my boys handle it. It just all seemed so complicated....maybe not for me. So I said.

Well check it, I'm now smack in the middle of this thing. Just facing my fears and addressing it. I didn't have the time for the hands on, though I have great ideas and production potential and helped to run kaos music productions, I had run everything else. (that's why we have partners right).

I have NOW stepped out of the box and jumped right into what I was afraid of.....that's wutz up. I am smack in the mix of it all. This is a whole new challenge for me and I plan on building a conglomerate within myself. This is a big thing to me and I plan on blessing myself further by rocking this shit big time. I'm starting out a lil slow but I'm building as a grow. All I gotta say is never have any doubts about me and my potential cause I got the heart of a champ. The bottom line is I will never go away. I know where I belong and what I gotta do......"If you wit me, Let's do this!".

LOTTIE DAH!-THE BIO

When you talk about the old school music of the eighties and a new sound that took us to the dance floor, you can throw Mz Lottie Dah! up in that mix. She made her music debut in 1983 with the hit single, "Infatuation", that became a huge success and is considered a big dance classic today. She later helped form the group "Leather & Lace" which was the first freestyle dance group to hit the clubs. That was the beginning of a whole new wave. "This was a part of what I saw as a child, when all I ever wanted to do was become a great performer and artist".

Lottie Dah! has expanded her vision in the music industry today venturing into different areas of the entertainment field including music production, artist management and development, promotions, venues director and artistic consultant and has hung her hat there for many years.

Lottie spent some time working with up and coming artists and helping them to find their way into the music industry. As President of Kaos Music she hosted events and venues that allowed the artists to perform on stage and develop their craft from the recording studio to showcasing. From Hip Hop, R&B, Reggeaton to Club Bangers, there was always some form of creative energy that continues to blossom. To know Lottie is to know that she is a diehard music lover. "The music is who I am and what completes me".

Lottie got involved in radio broadcasting with an internet radio station, VonFence Radio. She also promoted Z Music Studios for a short time before she decided to really get hands on with the music production.  She attends DMX (school of audio engineering) and aspires to grow a record company and expand the production company.

"You have to believe in yourself and follow your dreams. Work hard on your craft and always remain true to yourself. Nothing is impossible if you make it possible."

KEEPING IT ALIVE.......THIS THING IS REAL, YO

In reminising and going back to the days of when my dream started to take form and life, I realize that so much has happened in this journey of mine. As a child, when it all started with a dream, I then continued to pursue my journey. All the musical influences that came into my life just gave me so much insight through their journeys. So much inspiration, admiration and hope that I still know that this is where I belong.

Today, along with the artists of yesteryear that so influenced me, I admire so many that chased their dreams down and refused to give up until they got struck by success. Tina Turner, Beyonce, Pink....just to name a few. Just look at Jennifer Hudson and the tragedy that struck her and how she just percevered throughout all of that horror. I relate to her even more because her Mom was also her hero, just like mine was to me. There could not be a bigger influence in my life to me than my mother.

As of today the one's that influence me are those that are close to my heart and on top of their game. Willing to fight for themselves and their families as they pursue their success in this crazy business of music. Freddy (Big Vil), rapper extraordinaire, in English and Spanish, singer and songwriter along with Jose aka Noiz, who is a self taught producer and engineer. I can't forget David (Fury), also a producer and engineer (he went to that other school for engineering...lol). Pablo (Picaso), Carlos and old school DJ Power (Cold Crush Crew and a leader in the Zulu Nation movement), all known as Immortons. These guys have become the new influences in my life today because of their hard work and the journey that we all share. I'm part of this crew now and we have been able to feed off each other. I now have a huge support base and the respect that I have earned. We are all now fighting together.....in it together with a serious kick-ass attitude.

I have a cous named Jay who has written a book: " The Mystery, The Rumors, The Sadness, The Truth. U5-The Truth Behind the Lives" by Jay Torres about the old school days of graffiti (aka bombing). He has accomplished so much and he is so awesome and got the best work ethics that I know. We had the pleasure of working together last year. He is a military man who doesn't play around and just that we were able to work together in putting some show cases and performances turned out to be such a beautiful thing to me.

My serious inspiration today are the lovely ladies that represent strength of character and get it done attitudes. My BFF&E Mini who will always believe in me and her continuous spiritual enlightening will always eliminate any doubt within myself. My lil sis Muneca, fighting cancer and always wearing a smile no matter what, she always been nutty anyway. My niece Emily is one of the biggest fighters of them all. Been put through the ringer and came out on top. She's the one who is most like me...how you like me now and my girls that I can always count on, Lety, Evelyn, Olawa, Cous Marina who have conquered difficult challenges and refuse to let up. And then there are my Vudu girls, the Fabuloza Crew, all beautiful and about something. My girls are the best.

These are my peoples that I want around me as I continue to learn and grow and chase this thing down. What ever our input and contributions are in this business or to each other, we are what you can call...unstoppable....See you at the T.O.P. (exclamation point)!

CHASING IT DOWN

Back in the early 80's is when I really decided that it was time to go after this thing. I was in my early twenties. That's when I started my training with the vocals real hard. I went to The East Harlem School of Music and also The Brooklyn Conservatory. I started hitting it real hard. I wanted to sing, I wanted to sing, I wanted to sing. There was an artist named Jocelyn Brown from the group, Inner Life. She had a song called, "Ain't No Mountain High", which was a remake of the very old classic. Just the way she riffed it was incredible. Those high notes from the beginning to the end she just sang that song. It was one of the biggest hits in the club scene and when it played, the whole club just started to scream. I just loved her and that was the song that I practiced my vocals with every single day. I hit every note, every riff and then I knew that I was good. Jocelyn Brown inspired me. I saw her perform at the Paradise Garage and the whole place was just out of control.

One day I had the honor of meeting her at the infamous record shop, Downtown Records. She was doing an in-store promo for, "Caught Up In One Night Love Affair". The store owner, Frankie Ramos, knew how I felt about her and he was one of the first ever that knew that I wanted to sing and knew how I felt about Jocelyn. He introduced us and I almost passed out. "Oh my God.......I am standing here with one of my idols. I just love this woman". I got a chance to talk to her and tell her about my dreams to be a singer one day. She gave me such incredible words and insight and she told me that I could do it. She wrote me an autograph that said, "Keep on pursuing your dreams. You can do it"......I never ever forgot that.
